Two Games in One

The Phillies and Braves engaged in a well pitched game for eight and a half innings, the Phillies going into the bottom of the ninth inning leading 3-1. Including the Braves tying the game with two runs in the bottom of the ninth, the teams combined for eleven runs over the next 3 1/2 innings, the Braves coming out on top 8-7 in twelve innings. The Phillies retook the lead with a run in the top of the eleventh, the Braves tying again, then the Phillies scored three in the top of the twelfth, with the Braves winning with four in the bottom of the frame. The final score: 8-7.

Out in Anaheim, the Dodgers jumped out to a 13-0 lead after five innings. That was enough for Joe Maddon to sit Mike Trout, Justin Upton, and Jose Iglesias. Their substitutes would go five for eight as the Angels made a game of it, scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth and seven move in the seventh to eventually lose 14-11.
