Bird Flu

Two Cardinals tested positive for COVID-19, prompting the postponement of today’s game between the Cardinals and the Brewers in Milwaukee.

The postponed game has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on Sunday, with the first game to start at 2:10 p.m. ET. The league and the MLB Players Association agreed Thursday to stage seven-inning doubleheaders starting Saturday, sources familiar with the situation told ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Saturday’s game remains scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.

MLB said Friday’s postponement allows enough time for the Cardinals to do additional testing and conduct contact tracing.

Meanwhile, the Marlins are busing their 20 sick players and staff back to Florida.

As always, I hope all recover quickly and completely. The sliver lining for the Marlins is if they don’t play another game the rest of the season, they probably finish with the highest winning percentage in the NL East and go to the playoffs with a high seed!
