Twins Joshing

Via Bleacher Nation, it appears the Twins reached an agreement with free agent third baseman Josh Donaldson:

Feinsand has the details here, $92 million for four years with an option for another $8 million. Donaldson averaged 3.76 WAR the last three years, and given his age he could be expected to produce about 13 WAR the next four seasons, or about $7 million per WAR.

Interestingly, the Twins just signed their incumbent third baseman, Miguel Sano to a three-year contract. Right now, the team doesn’t really have a third baseman. Since Sano’s defense isn’t really very good, and he’s listed as a backup DH, my guess is that Sano will be moving to first base.

Update: The Star-Tribune report confirms the Sano move to first base.
