The DH Gets a Hit

Chase Headley breaks his and the Yankees 0 for slump for designated hitters as he singles with two out in the bottom of the fourth to drive in the Yankees fourth run of the game. Greg Bird doubled leading off the inning on a fly ball that Cameron Maybin appeared to give up on too early. He scores after moving up on a long fly ball. Add in a Todd Frazier walks and a Brett Gardner hit by pitch, and the Yankees now have the bases loaded with two out.

Charlie Morton leaves the game with the Yankees leading the Astros 4-0.

Update: A wild pitch with Aaron Judge at the plate extends the lead to 5-0.

Update: The WP costs Judge a grand slam as he homers into the left field stands for three RBI, and the Yankees lead the Astros 8-0.

Update: A nice play to end the inning as the first baseman deflects the ball to Jose Altuve, who gets it to the pitcher covering. The Yankees built a big lead. We’ll see if they can hold this one.
