Ramirez Takes an Extra Base

Jose Ramirez leads off the bottom of the tenth with what looks like a single to right-center for the Indians. He turns on the jets, however, and beats the throw by a surprised Lorenzo Cain, and Ramirez earns his 50th double of the season and second of the game. The Royals and Indians are tied at two as the Indians go for their 22nd consecutive win.

Update: After a walk to Edwin Encarnacion, Jay Bruce lines a ball down the rightfield line to score Ramirez, and the Indians win 3-2. The 22-game win streak is the longest in MLB history in which there were no ties.

    That was AWESOME!

& with 15 games left, I’m really wondering how many doubles Ramirez will get. He’ll probably end up somewhere between 55-60, but if he gets hot, he could reach 60.
