Setting Blazek Ablaze

Michael Blazek is having a very bad third inning. He started off by walking opposing pitcher Max Scherzer, then allowed four straight home runs to the top of the Nationals order. That included the second of the day for Bryce Harper. After a fly out by Daniel Murphy, Anthony Rendon followed with the fifth home run of the inning. It ties both the record for most home runs in an inning and most consecutive home runs in an inning.

Update: Wily Peralta comes in, but the road runners get him too as he gives up hits to the first three batters he faces, including Max Scherzer. Murphy is the only Nationals starter to not get a hit in the inning, while Scherzer now has more hits than the Brewers in the game.

Update: Brian Goodwin has mercy on the Brewers and hits into a double play. The Nationals score seven runs in the inning and lead the Brewers 9-0.

Update: The Don Slaught continues as Zimmerman and Lobaton homer in the fourth. Murphy walks, so all nine starters have reached base and scored a run. Murphy is the only one without a hit, and Murphy and Scherzer are the only ones without an RBI. Harper doubles, and moves ahead of Murphy in the batting average race, .340 to .338. Extra total bases on the day for Harper so far.

Update: Murphy singles in the bottom of the fifth. All starters now have a hit. Harper lined out, so Murphy is ahead in the batting race again, .340 to .339.

Update: Scherzer recorded his eighth K, giving him 200 for the season. In a World Series game between Scherzer and chris Sale, do all the fielder just sit down?
