Games of the Day

The Pirates are moving up in the NL Central and they send Ivan Nova against the first place Brewers and Chase Anderson. Nova has become a complete game savant since joining the Pirates. He first pitched for them on Aug. 6, 2016, and since that date he has five complete games, two more than anyone else in the majors. Anderson pitched especially well at home where 11 walks in 44 1/3 innings helped him to a 2.03 ERA.

The Diamondbacks and Rockies finish their series with Zack Godley pitching against Antonio Senzatela. Godley pitches divinely home and road. He shows better control away, with 21 K and just six walks in 24 2/3 innings. Senzatela allowed 10 home runs in 51 1/3 innings at home, but not much more as his Coors ERA stands at 3.68. He owns a .294 opposition OBP pitching in Coors.

Finally, Steven Matz faces Alex Wood as the Mets finish their series with the Dodgers. Matz is doing well pitching to contact in his first two starts this year. He’s allowed just 13 hits in 14 innings, walking one and striking out six. Wood is pitching lights out, with a 1.90 ERA and a 7-0 record. He’s a few starts away from qualifying for the ERA title.

Enjoy!
