Sad Comeback

Jose Fernandez won the Comeback Player of the Year Award:

Late Marlins ace Jose Fernandez has been named the National League Comeback Player of the Year for the 2016 season.

The award was voted on by players days before Fernandez’s death in a boating accident that also killed two friends on September 25. He was 24, making him the youngest MLB All-Star ever to die.

Fernandez posted an impressive season in his return from Tommy John surgery. Of course, if he were to repeat the award, we might have a whole new religion on our hands, or the zombie apocalypse.
