The Cubs get a double in the ninth but nothing else, and the Indians win game one of the 2016 World Series 6-0. Indians pitchers struck out 15 Cubs out of 35 faced, holding the Cubs to seven hits and two walks. Francisco Lindor and Roberto Perez were the offensive stars. Lindor collected three hits and scored the first and only necessary run, while Perez hit two home runs and drove in four runs.
The Indians won with their ace, who many wind up starting three games. A great game all around for the Indians.
Game two will start an hour earlier than originally scheduled due to potential rain.
Perez, Tenace…Light hitting C wi 2 HR in game 1..hard to believe Tenace was 44 years ago…
Luis » Indeed. I remember thinking, “Who is Gene Tenace?” It wasn’t a flash in the pan, as he went on to have a pretty good career.
I still have Gene Tenace’s baseball card after he won those World Series with the A’s.
