The Stealer

Francisco Lindor singles leading off the bottom of the third. With one out, he starts to steal, but Lester is not going home. Lindor should be picked off, but Lester does not throw, and Lindor returns to first. He then goes, and David Ross throws Lindor out on a quick tag by Javier Baez. Lindor is 1 for 2 stealing in the game.

That’s been the pattern this year. Lester can’t throw to first, but Cubs do a good job of throwing out runners anyway.

The caught stealing is followed by a walk and a single, and the Indians have runners at first and second with two out.

The Indians lead the Cubs 2-0.

Update: Carlos Santana appeared to cramp at second base, and they Indians are trying to keep him in the game with massage and Gatorade.

Update: Santana stays in.

Update: Lester strikes out Brandon Guyer looking to end the inning. One third of the way through game one, the Indians lead the Cubs 2-0.
