Fourth Setting

The Cubs set the table in the top of the fourth inning. Javier Baez doubles to the leftfield corner, and Jason Heyward gets hit by a pitch. The Cubs own a 1-0 lead over the Dodgers and are set up for a big inning.

Update: Addison Russell strikes out for the first out of the inning.

Update: David Ross flies out after working to a 3-2 count against Maeda. Two down, and the Dodgers make a pitching change. Madea threw 76 pitches.

This is a string time to make a pitching change, as Jon Lester is coming up. I’d wait for the pinch hitter to be announced, or for Lester to bat. One would think Maeda could retire Lester. Josh Fields comes on to pitch.

Update: Lester gets wood on the ball, but flies out the left. The Cubs let a golden opportunity go to waste.
