Balls Fall the Cubs Way

Ben Zobrist leads off the fourth inning with a bunt single down the third base line. Javier Baez follows with an 0-2 bloop hit into left. The Cubs will take a hit however they can get one right now, but balls seem to be falling in for them in this inning.

The ball falls for Wilson Contreras, too, as he dumps a humpback liner into left. For some reason, the Cubs send Zobrist, and Andrew Toles overthrows the plate. The Cubs take a 1-0 lead, and on the error the Cubs have two runners in scoring position.

Update: Jason Heyward grounds out to second, and that drives in the runner from third. The Cubs take a 2-0 lead over the Dodgers after Chicago did not score for 21 innings.

Update: Addison Russell hits a two-run homer to just right of straight-away center, and the Cubs take a 4-0 lead. The offense appears to be awake.

Update: The Cubs get a double from Dexter Fowler, but no more runs. The Cubs lead the Dodgers 4-0 in the middle of the fourth inning.
