Die Another Day

The Indians go quietly in the ninth inning, and the Blue Jays win game four of the ALCS 5-1. This game was how I saw the series playing out; excellent pitching from Toronto, and decent offense. The Blue Jays collected nine hits and four walks, including a home run and a triple.

I suspect that the decision about the game four starters might haunt one of these managers. Corey Kluber pitched decently for the Indians, but lasted just five innings as the Blue Jays worked him for 89 pitches. He might have gone longer had he waited a day to pitch on full rest. Aaron Sanchez pitched six strong innings for the Blue Jays, and an earlier start in the series might mean h starts twice.

The Indians still hold a commanding 3-1 lead in the series with two potential games in Cleveland. The hole is less deep for Toronto, but there the top is still far away.
