Playoffs Today

The ALCS moves to Toronto as the Indians send “Three Finger” Trevor Bauer against Marcus Stroman and the Blue Jays. The Indians schedule Bauer for game two, but he cut the pinky finger on his throwing hand, and it required stitches. According to Bauer:

Later in the conference Bauer said he threw the ball on Saturday will only minimal bleeding, and doesn’t think it will be an issue on Monday. He said he doesn’t use his pinky to grip any of his pitches.

We will see. Maybe the still sensitive digit puts a little extra movement on the ball. That might be a good or bad thing. Bauer pitched well on the road this season, allowing just five of his 15 home runs. He allowed the Blue Jays just two runs in 13 innings this season, with 16 strikeouts. He appeared in long relief, and made an excellent start.

Stroman made two strong starts against the Indians this season. He allowed one run in each game, combining to strike out 15 in 14 innings with just two walks. The Blue Jays need that kind of performance today, as teams down 3-0 in a best of seven tend to fare poorly.

Enjoy!
