Pederson Pops

Joc Pederson leads off the seventh inning with a home run to leftfield, and the Dodgers tie the Nationals at one. That’s it for Max Scherzer, who pitched an outstanding game. Werth getting thrown out at home on the previous play looms large now.

Update: Marc Rzepczynski comes in and walks Yasmani Grandal. That’s the only batter Rzepczynski faces.

Update: Blake Treinen comes in and gives up a broken bat single to Howie Kendrick. The Dodgers have runners on first and second with no one out.

Update: Charlie Culberson pinch hits and is asked to bunt. He tries three times, fouling out the last two, and strikes out. One down.

Update: Sammy Solis comes on to pitch for the Nationals with a double switch. Carlos Ruiz pinch hits. Ruiz singles off the glove of Anthony Rendon, and the Dodgers lead 2-1. If Rendon doesn’t touch the ball, the runner from second probably doesn’t score.

Update: After a fly out, Shawn Kelley comes on to try to get the Nationals out of the inning.

Update: Justin Turner triples over the head of Trea Turner in centerfield. Two more runs score, and the Dodgers take a huge 4-1 lead. Trea played the carom poorly off the wall. He was caught between trying to make a catch and trying to play the ball.

Update: Kelley throws a pitch to Adrian Gonzalez, and injures himself. Oliver Perez comes on to pitch.

Update: Gonzalez grounds out to end the inning, but the Dodgers are just nine outs away from going to the NLCS.
