Wilson Ramos tore his ACL at the worst possible time for him. Not only does he miss the playoffs, but since he is opting for free agency, teams are going to be a little less likely to give him a long term contract or lots of money. He had a great season, but his free agent dollars may be going down.
I remember in high school getting hurt right before the college recruiting season. It seemed like I had the worst luck in the world. It took a lot to battle back and find opportunities. Does Ramos need to settle for a 1 year deal now? Maybe… it depends how much risk the teams put onto the injury.

Ken Jacobi » Ramos will be seasonal age 29 next season. Catchers can go down hill quickly after age 30. It may be a team signs him to hit, not to catch. I could see an AL team deciding he should be a DH.
