Games of the Day

The Red Sox try to drive a another nail into the Orioles AL East coffin as David Price takes on Chris Tillman. Price’s ERA peaked on May 7 at 6.75 after giving up six runs to the Yankees in consecutive starts. Since then, he pitched much more like the pitcher the Red Sox expected, posting a 3.22 ERA with an outstanding strike out to walk ratio. Tillman goes for his 17th win, which would set a new single season high for him. He pitched well in one start against Boston this season, allowing one run in seven innings, striking out seven.

The Tigers finish their series with the Twins sending Justin Verlander against Ervin Santana in game two of a double header. Verlander allowed two runs or less in 13 of his last 15 starts. He struck out over 10 batters per nine innings in that time. Santana doesn’t have a decision in two starts against the Tigers, but owns a 1.50 ERA against them this year.
