Shields Down

The Orioles bombarded James Shields with four home runs in the first two innings, two of them by Manny Machado. Shields leaves the game after 1 1/3 innings and 14 batters, giving up seven runs. Shields has now allowed 24 home runs on the season in 128 innings, and 15 for the White Sox in 62 innings.

The Orioles lead the White Sox 7-0 as they continue to bat in the seventh inning.

Update: Machado added a home run in the third inning as well. He’s 3 for 3 with seven RBI, and the game is in the top of the fifth, with the Orioles leading 10-1. He should have at least a couple of shots at hitting four homers in a game.
