No Contact Phillies

The Phillies beat the Marlins 4-0 Monday night, despite failing to put the bat on the ball in 21 of their 42 plate appearances. They struck out 13 times, but drew seven walks and one hit by pitch. That made them a respectable 7 for 21 when putting the ball in play, and that was enough to push some runners across the plate for the win. The Marlins put the ball in play all night, striking out three times and walking once in 30 PA, but managed just two hits. Nice job by the Phillies defense.
