No-No Kelly

Joe Kelly held the Indians hitless through six innings. Kelly retired the first 12 Cleveland batters, then walked three in the fifth inning. The Indians left the bases loaded. A Red Sox error put another runner on base in the sixth, but once again, Kelly survived.

Kelly was supposed to be on a pitch limit of 95 today, and he’s already at 96. We’ll see how long the Red Sox let him pitch. The Red Sox lead 4-0 as they bat in the bottom of the sixth.

Jackie Bradley, Jr. walked twice, then singles leading off the sixth inning, beating out an infield hit. His hit streak is now at 26.

Update: Bradley makes a nice basket catch after running in on a line drive for the second out in the seventh. Juan Uribe then drives a ball into the right-center gap to break up the no-hitter. That’s it for Kelly.
