Pitcher Cleaning Up

Kendall Graveman wound up hitting cleanup for the Oakland Athletics as an injury caused the Athletics to lose their designated hitter. In the bottom of the fourth, Danny Valencia had to come out of the game, and Jed Lowrie had to move to the infield. Lowrie was the DH, so the A’s lost that position. That forced Graveman to bat. He struck out. Despite that, Oakland won the game against the Yankees 5-2. Graveman did much better on the mound, striking out eight batters in 6 1/3 innings.
