Playoffs Today

The Cubs try to even their series with the Cardinals as Kyle Hendricks faces Jaime Garcia. Hendricks looked like he was going to finish the season on a down note, but came back with two strong outings at the end. Even during the rough patch, he continued to strike out batters at a high rate. Garcia only made 20 starts during the regular season, but posted the lowest ERA of his career. This will be his first time facing the Cubs in 2015.

Afterward, the Mets try to take a commanding 2-0 lead on the Dodgers in Los Angeles as Noah Syndergaard takes on Zack Greinke. Syndergaard is another Mets pitcher that blows away batters, striking out 166 in 150 innings in his rookie season. In his seasonal age 22 season, he also showed remarkable control, walking just 31 batters. Against the Dodgers, Syndergaard allowed one run in six innings but did not get the decision. Greinke posted a league best 1.66 ERA, which drops to 1.46 at home. He made two starts against the Mets, allowing two runs in 14 innings in 2015. One of Greinke’s strength this season was putting the offense in a hole. He allowed a .172/.197/.199 slash line with no one on and no one out, without allowing a lead-off home run all season.

Enjoy!
