Pain
Jim Bowden still has his job, but, "They're Just Making Bowden Endure As Much Pain As Possible." The Washington Post summary of the Nationals scandal notes Jose Rijo owned the diamonds used by the club in the DR and rented them for $40,000 a month. There seems to be just a bit of a conflict of interest there.

Certainly there was potential for conflict, but it doesn't seem like there actually was a conflict. The article notes that similar facilities were renting for about the same price. What's the evidence for an actual conflict? Seems to me that Rijo was helping the team in two different capacities and getting paid for each. What am I missing?
