Handling Alex

Brian Cashman speaks to the NY Times on A-Rod's PED smuggling cousin picking up Rodriguez yesterday:

"It's been handled," he said.

I get the feeling that if some club were to offer the Yankees a bag of balls and be willing to take over the contract, Cashman just might trade A-Rod to lose the headache.

Anyone else get the feeling that AROD wanted to make sure he and his cousin were on the same page regarding when he did and didn't use steroids?

The cousin in the parking lot just proves A-Rod's arrogance and ignorance on how to manage his image. It's no wonder he's despised by so many.

The original survey drug tests were akin to an IQ test, The players knew they were being tested near a certain time, but stupidly took illegal PED's.

A-Rod's hanging out with his cosuin in full view of the press proves not that he is arrogant, but deficient in mental capacity.

The fun will come if Ms. Roberts' book accuses A-Rod of taking illegal PED's while he was a Yankee. Absent that, this event will slowly disappear by May.

You are misinterpreting the holier-than-thou pronouncements by those in baseball land as meaning they actually care about the moral upstandingness of their players.

They don't.

They care whether they can hit, run and throw.

If Arod can still do that, then he can say he's bigger than Jesus and they'll do nothing more, than make holier-than-thou pronouncements.

Agreed, the Yanks would sign Michael Vick if he could hit.
