Trainer to the DR Stars

David Ortiz took questions about Angel Presinal this morning:

Ortiz stressed he's worked with Presinal, but the trainer never pushed him towards steroids.

"I've known him for a long time," said Ortiz. "All I know from him is how to keep our bodies ready; working out, teaching how to do the right exercises and things like that. He's not just teaching baseball players, he has a guy who runs marathon, a volleyball player, basketball player, everybody. He's been doing that for years. All i know is we all work out with him as a group a guys want to be ready in spring training. And that's about it."

So it strikes me there are a large group of players who work with this person in the off season. Are they all going to get suspended?

Update: Robinson Cano loves the guy, too.

Otriz (Presinal) and Schilling (1993 Phillies, Roger Clemens) are possible circumstantial statistical cases for enhancement. I don't like this method, but for the press to be consistent they should question these players (and those associated with Presinal) more aggressively,

I guess it would upset George Mitchell and Bud Selig too much for Red Sox players to be on the hot seat. Is identifying illegal PED users like the luxury tax - you only point it out and add a penalty once a player reaches the Yankees?

Interesting point, Bob. I wonder if Arod develops a spine and pushes back against MLB investigators looking to question him. Somebody at MLB likely was the initial leaker. Not a fan, but I hope he he stands his ground and the union gears for a fight.

All of this seems pretty stupid to me, first of all itīs hard to determine what the goal of the investigacion really is? What are they trying to prove? that players were taking stuff which wasnīt prohibited at the time? Let it be, I agree that it should go down as a dark era in the sport, but enough itīs enough!! They canīt take away the homers and the strikeouts anyway, let it pass!! and another thing why was A Rod picked out of the bunch?? there are 103 names in the list?? They canīt take awy his money either, so whatīs the plan!!

It should be amusing to hear the usual suspects explaining why A-Rod's association with Presinal is proof he's evil and should be banned forever from the sport, while Big Papi's association with him has been as pure as the driven snow and proves how determined he is to stay healthy and help his team win.
