Buggy Slogan
Washington unveiled a new slogan today:
Anyway, today the Nationals unveiled the slogan at the center of their 2009 marketing/advertising campaign -- yes, NatsTown. The "NatsTown" idea will attempt to convey the spirit (and here I quote the press release) that "unites all fans in everything Nationals -- at the ballpark, in the community, and in their everyday lives."
The first thing NatsTown made me think of was Joba Chamberlain's nickname for Cleveland. :-)
Since they didn't spend any money on players for this year I guess it's good they at least have a marketing slogan. As a native Washingtonian born in 1950, this is an ugly deja vu experience. This team is at least as bad as the teams of my youth, and worse than most. And back then the actions of a cheapskate owner were at least more understandable than now, when they have a beautiful new ballpark, and the owners allegedly have deep pockets. Disgusting.
