John Rocker Lite

MetsGrrl finds a reason not to want Derek Lowe on the Mets. She also likes the way Omar Minaya is approaching negotiations:

Right now, waiting is the best thing to do, because the bottom is dropping out of the market, and if you think that's going to change soon, you're wrong. Being desperate is just going to waste money. What's your hurry? It's not like anyone else is walking around with the cartoon suitcase of money with dollar bills hanging out of it. And even if Derek Lowe wanted to sign with us for three sacks of baseballs and a box of Bazooka, I'd say no. We don't need that.

Maybe someone should tell her Milton Bradley didn't play for the LAD last year.

She was quoting LAobserved.com bandit.

Also, I don't think his comment makes him look like John Rocker lite. Rocker hated people... Lowe was saying things that make me feel like he was frustrated that only his white teammates wanted to participate in a team function. Then again, I suppose no one can really tell how he feels from that one paragraph.

Bradley still didn't play for them last year. She needs a dose of reality about MLB teams.

I didn't write the quote that David excerpted. Your issue should be with the gentleman from the LA Observer, except that he's not wrong either. The quote is taken from Mr. Lowe's divorce depositions.

Of course, it's easier to just hate the baseball blogging chick than to actually read the entire article linked.
