Grown and Acquired

Paul Sullivan is working on a series in which he comes up with the all-time teams for all 30 franchises. He'll define two teams, however, the home grown and the acquired. Here's his entry for the Athletics.

Rob Neyer wrote an interesting book on the all time players of each team. Rob admitted that he made a mistake in picking Trot Nixon over Duey Evans for all time best Red Sox RF.

As a native Washingtonian, I hope that the Senators rate a team of their own, and are not
just added to the Twins. Would not make much sense for Walter Johnson to be listed as a Twin, since he never spent a day in his life in the Twin Cities. And there were certainly enough great players to make up a team from Washington. If he doesn't want to do it, I'd be more than happy to.

I think he needs to lose the home grown and aquired teams and just work on 1 team.
