Acta Okay
Manny Acta doesn't seem to be too worried about his job security. I would suggest that because Manny is a good manager, if the Nationals fire him he'll land a plum job somewhere else. If I were in his position, I'd almost want the Nationals not to extend my contract.

What's your basis for considering Acta a good mgr? They lost 102 games last year and had fourteen less wins than the year before - they were at the bottom of the league in every category. What would you consider bad managing?
Bandit, did you see the team last year? John McGraw could have been managing and they still would have lost 100 games.
I did - they didn't improve over the year - the young players didn't develop, they played sloppy baseball and didn't seem to put in a lot of effort. There's no part of the game they did well in.
They did well in 2007, well above expectations. Last year's team was just piss poor.
So explain how you would call acta a good manager? The team was the bottom of the league in everything - played poorly, didn't develop and didn't compete. Definitely went backwards. If Acta's a good manager Freddy Gonzalez must be the second coming of Earl Weaver.
