Manny and Cameron

Manny Ramirez might be holding up the Brewers-Yankees deal for Mike Cameron:

One possible explanation for the Yankees' sudden halt to the negotiations with Milwaukee is the Bombers' increased interest in Ramirez. Should the Yankees sign Ramirez, he would become the new left fielder, shifting Johnny Damon to his old stomping grounds in center. In that scenario, Cameron would no longer be needed.

If the Yankees sign Ramirez, they should try to move either Damon or Matsui. Manny should be the designated hitter.

All the Yankees will need is Dwight Evans to come out of retirement and play right field. Or, they can sign Gabe Kapler for the all former-Sox outfield.

The Yankees can spend all the money they want. The problem with free agency is that it's boring. the other GMs play chess (or checkers in the case of Pittsburgh, KC and others). Cashman/Hank come in and hit the game board with a mallet. It's their right. But it's boring.

It is ridiculous, how can an organization have respect for itself when it simply signs the best players from its biggest rival that knocked them off in the biggest upset in the history of baseball.. Oh yea.. THEY ARE 4 YEARS OLDER!!

I know he is a great hitter (Manny) and would be a great fit on 28 of 30 teams, but not the Yankees..

Move Damon and Matsui where? The NYY defintely need another LF/DH.

if they sign Manny, put him in left, and put Damon in center that would probably be the worst defensive outfield in baseball.
