No Interest?

MetsBlog.com heard this today:

In an on-air report for ESPN News, Buster Olney said he cannot find a GM, outside of the Dodgers, who will say they have interest in signing Manny Ramirez.

My guess is the lack of interest is due to the length of the contract Manny seeks. If he were looking for a two-year deal, there would be a ton of interest.

Taken literally, this equates to " All GMs aside from Colletti are idiots". Of course they all have interest in signing Manny, just not in signing him on his terms.

I would love to see any of my favorite teams offer Manny a $30M/1-year deal, or a huge two-year deal like the Dodgers. I would not be interested in seeing those teams offer him a $140M/6-year deal (as he's reported to be seeking). At $100M/4-years, it's a hard choice, but I would still think more of them would have interest in that than just the Dodgers.

I think Manny hurt himself the way he played himself out of Boston. That would discourage me from any long term committment.
