Short Names
Once again, we should have shorted Citi Bank when they bought the naming rights to the Mets Stadium.

It does seem to happen a lot, Enron Field, PSI-net stadium, MCI Center come to mind immediately.
There are those that went bust (Pro Player Stadium, 3Com, and Adelphia, among many others), and a separate class of those that merged -- sometimes over and over again. The current Garden in Boston has had at least three names: Shawmut, Fleet, and TD Banknorth.
Maybe buying a stadium name is a sign of hubris in a corporation. After all, you're spending big bucks for a highly intangible asset.
