Polo Pictures
The Baseball Zealot links to photos from the Polo Grounds. The collection gives one a nice feel for the park.

Half way down the page is a great shot from behind home plate showing the old pitcher's "mound" which really looks like little more than a speed bump.
It would be interesting to see the park effects by field (I'm sure it has been done), the foul poles are short but CF looks huge.
Is it the only major league stadium to have no right field at all? Look at where the rightfielder has to play, his back against the wall in right-center. Anything pulled to right that doesn't go over the fence could be fielded by the second baseman on the carom, I guess.
Great photos. Now, does anyone have any pictures of them playing polo there?
Phillies Baker Bowl of 30s had small RF that made Chuck Klein. PG RF made Mel Ott into a 500HR hitter. !954 WS first game winning pinch HR by Dusty Rhodes was a pop fly that grazed overhang upper deck in RF according to LP Bob Lemon.
