Vlad Not Available
6-4-2 Lists a number of Angels transactions. To the surprise of no one, LAnaheim picked up Vlad Guerrero's option, but bought out Garret Anderson's. At this point, I thought Anderson would finish his career with the Angels.
Anderson gave the Angels 15 loyal seasons of .296 bat avg, etc. He deserves to get another Angel contract, mostly as a DH. His smooth fielding started to unravel this year.
Anderson has been overrated for quite some time; at this point, he's a pretty good singles hitter and that's all. Makes a lot of outs. His last really good season was 2003. I think the Angels have been more than loyal to him.
Pretty hard to see them picking him up as a DH the way Vlad's running - in this day and age with 11 or 12 pitchers your reserve outfielders have to be able to play more than 1 outfield position - he was an everyday player last year so unless they're going to bring him back it would seem they'd need to get somebody else for LF - a spot for Manny?
