Booing Papi

David Ortiz grounds out in the bottom of the third and the fans boo him. Wow. You would think with all the big hits Ortiz collected over the years he'd be the one player cut some slack.

It just goes to show what a ridiculous sense of entitlement Red Sox fans have these days. The Nation, and the team itself, are starting to look more like the Yankees all the time.

Isn't it more likely they were saying "Yooooouk" as he's the next batter?

I thought the same thing -- they can't possibly be booing Ortiz, after all he's done -- before I remembered Youk was on deck. People REALLY enjoy bellowing Youk for some reason, and they'll do it as soon as he steps out of the box. I just haven't gotten used to not having Manny in between Ortiz and Youkilis.

I think it was the half jogging with the bat in his hands

It was for Youkilis, people love making that "ooooo" sound at sporting events. I hear it a lot in football. If they boo Ortize, they've got major problems.
