On to the Ninth

The White Sox score twice more in the eighth to extend their lead to 8-2. The offense supplied the pitchers with a hefty lead to protect, which is always a good thing.

Update: D.J. Carrasco strikes out Jeff Larish for the first out of the inning.

Update: Matt Joyce strikes out swinging, then Granderson flies out to center and the regular season goes one day longer. The teams play tomorrow at 7:30 PM EDT in Chicago, and you can watch the game on TBS.

The White Sox used their patience and power to dominate in this game. Walks set up the big blow, the grand slam by Alexei Ramirez. We'll see if the Sox can do the same tomorrow against the Twins, a team known for not issuing walks. Chicago lost the last four they've played against the Twins, but won the last five they played at home.
