I Want to Win

MLBRumors reports on a Peter Gammons radio appearance. According to the post, CC Sabathia told his agent to stop complaining about the Brewers' use of Sabathia:

"Don't call them anymore," Gammons quoted Sabathia as telling his representatives at Legend Sports Group. "I want to win."

The Brewers will use CC on Sunday, his third start in a row on three days rest. Although, if the Brewers are a game up on either the Mets or Phillies at that point, I think they would be better off trying to win with someone else and saving CC for the possible playoff game, or first start in the division series.

I like that. Not only does it make people look at CC as a pitcher who can really win, but who has an near obssession with being on the mound to do it. That will earn him some big free agent bucks.

Dear C.C. How do you look in pinstripes?

Dear TC, Slightly less like a fat slob.

CC

STFU - you're making me look bad

It's a noble sentiment, to be sure, but if CC signs for big bucks next year and has a bad season or suffers a major injury, his new team will look back on his Brewer workload as the cause. He seems like a big strong horse; but he worked hard last year, and he was terrible the first half of this year. What if the same thing -- or worse -- happens next year in New York?

CC's leading both leagues in shutouts. I don't think that has ever happened before.
