So Much for the No-Hitter Stuff
Carlos Zambrano's no-hit streak didn't last long. The first three Cardinals picked up hits against Carlos, driving in a run. After loading the bases with a walk, Adam Kennedy hit a grand slam. Given that Zambrano only allowed 16 home runs coming into the game, and Kennedy had hit just one all year, that had to be a low probability slam. The Cardinals are off to a 5-0 lead.
Update: So I leave the room, and the Cardinals score three more runs. Zambrano is out of the game, lasting just 1 2/3 innings. St. Louis leads 8-0 after two innings.

I'm too lazy to dig for info on this, but this has to rank as one of the worst-ever follow-ups to a no-hitter.
Was this a typical type of outing from someone who's been suffering from arm troubles, and then overexerts himself in his first game back from a layoff from arm fatigue?
Could someone describe the type of stuff Zambrano had today. What about his movement, control, velocity, etc.?
I'm guessing - without even seeing - a lot of balls up and over the middle of the plate.
It's the curse of the BillyGoat !! Or maybe it was because the Cubbies couldn't find it fit to let 102 year old Emilio Navarro, Baseball's oldest living player, throw out the first pitch at Wrigley the other day. Bad karma folks. Hey Bleacher Bums....are ya sceeeeard yet? You should be. Ryne Sandberg put the whammy all over your playoff hopes today leading your 7th inning stretch. Doh ! Just think of the possiblilities. Remember 2003? If Moises Alou would have just heard Steve Bartman yell out "yo lo tengo!", he would have gotten that souvenir. Poor chap. See you in October Cubbies. Enjoy your clinching party when it comes. Hey Hey !!!

i don't know why that happened.
Baseball Data does not list Emilio Navarro with any MLB stats. Bill Werber at 100 last June is MLB oldest player unless more facts on Navarro are
disclosed,
