One Big Inning

Shaun Marcum and Gavin Floyd matched zeros through seven innings. The Blue Jays, however, exploded for six runs in the eighth. They knocked out seven hits, five singles and two doubles. They even played for one run, bunting after a leadoff double. Marcum is still in the game, pitching in the bottom of the eighth. A Blue Jays win tonight allows them to gain both on the Twins and Red Sox in the AL Wild Card race before they head into Boston Friday.

Update: It was a big inning for the White Sox also as they scored four run, two on a Jim Thome home run. It wasn't enough, however, as the Blue Jays went on to a 6-4 victory.
