Walkoff Grounder

The Cardinals win in the bottom of the ninth, 4-3 over Chicago. Cesar Izturis checks his swing but grounds the ball to second with the infield in. Brendan Ryan breaks from third on contact and beats the throw to the plate with a nice slide.

Pujols hit his 33rd home run of the season, a three-run shot in the sixth that tied the game. It was just the 13th homer allowed by Dempster this season. The Cardinals await the outcome of the Reds at Milwaukee, currently tied at four in the eighth. The Phillies lost earlier in the evening, 10-8 to the Marlins.
