Quote of the Day
From Ducksnorts:
First off, if your #2 hitter lays down a sacrifice bunt in the first inning -- as Luis Rodriguez did on Friday night -- then you probably need to find another #2 hitter.

But what if your leadoff hitter walks too much and clogs up the bases?
I agree completely. Clearly they were trying to clear the bases for a big first inning.
I never understood that quote. Perhaps someone can explain to me what might have been going on in that pea-sized brain of Dusty's when he said that. I'm just trying to think of a situation where an average to below-average runner could actually prevent a fast runner from taking an extra base. Did he mean that you can't double-steal with a slow guy on 2nd? Even the slowest runners score from first on a (would-be) triple... Please someone help.
