Kendrick Disabled
Howie Kendrick re-injures a hamstring and heads to the 15-day disabled list. With their huge lead in the AL West, the Angels can afford to give Kendrick all the time he need to heal for the playoffs.
I took a good look at Kedrick's stats, since the article described him as "one of the Los Angeles Angels' top hitters this season." That's true, but I wonder if they would say the same about Mike Napoli. Mike's batting average is 90 points lower than Kendrick, but his OBA is one point higher and his slugging percentage is 66 points higher. Kendrick really has a low number of walks for a .300 hitter.

David, you scared the bejeezus out of me, I thought it was Kyle Kendrick when I saw the headline!
Having Howie on my fantasy team, I have come to agree that he definitely has hollow numbers. He never walks, has little power, hits low in the lineup so he isn't scoring many runs or driving many in. I got consumed by his hype from the "experts" predicting batting title(s).
Kendrick isn't that bad or that good. His .762 OPS would be right in the middle of the pack among 2B qualifiers.
With the glove Kendrick's range factor and zone rating are again middle-of-the-road, maybe a little better than average. This guy looks like the almost exactly average major league second baseman.
