Rox Rolled
Tim Lincecum proved to be too much for the Rockies as San Francisco finally got to Livan Hernandez and won the game 4-1. Back-to-back home runs by Bengie Molina and Pablo Sandoval in the seventh chased Hernandez and gave the Giants all they needed for victory.
Lincecum now stands at 15-3 with a 2.43 ERA. He's struck out 210 in 185 1/3 innings. Could we get two Cy Young winners from sub .500 teams this season? The Indians are winning again, so they may end up with a decent record. Will NL writers vote for Lincecum over Webb?

Dave, Did you see the Giants let him throw 132 pitches? I'm not sure what they gain out of this... being in last place.
I didn't notice that. Either the Giants are being reckless, or Lincecum's mechanics are so good it doesn't matter. If the latter is true, I would suspect young pitchers are going to start flocking to Tim's father for training.

Heh. Kind of like Mark Prior's mechanics being so good he will never get hurt?
Pitch count is overemphasized. If a guy is in condition and pitching out of the windup then he should easily be able to throw 120 pitches.
