Feliz's Fly

The Phillies win in the bottom of the 11th as Pedro Feliz homers deep to left center to make the final score 5-2. He also hit the game tying single in the ninth. He's not much of a hitter overall, but he has hit much better with men on than with the bases empty this season.

The Phillies gain a game on the Mets, cutting the NL East lead to 1/2 game.

Interesting stats...

Dodgers before Manny: 55-55.

Dodgers with Manny: 11-11.

One player usually doesn't make a huge difference. And Ramirez has been slumping lately, anyway. His last six games have only produced five singles and a .625 OPS.

But he will get a humongous contract from somebody.

Oops. Dodgers before Manny were 54-54. Doesn't make much difference.

And in case you're wondering...

Red Sox before Jason Bay: 61-48 (.560)

Red Sox after Jason Bay: 14-7 (.667)

Just saying. We'll see what the numbers look like at the end of the year. But right now all the mediot whining that the Sox had traded away the World Series seems a little premature.
