The Price is Right

Beyond the Boxscore wonders if David Price should be brought to the majors the same way as Joba Chamberlain, in the bullpen.

Then they should jerk him back to the rotation mid season so he can hurt his arm too. Working great so far!

Uhh he didn't hurt his arm pitching Bandit, he hurt it getting out of the way of Pudge's throw to second.

And I would say the Joba experiment has been very successful.

Wait, you (Bandit) think Chamberlain hurt his arm because he was moved ('jerked', if you prefer) from the bullpen to the rotation in the middle of the season?

That strikes me as nuts. Is there any evidence for it?

There's evidence that he's hurt and going to miss his next start(s) - since obviously you know nothing about pitching I'll clue you in - Chamberlain getting hurt was as predictable as the sun coming up in the East - do you think it's a coincidence that the first time he's getting racked up he ends up hurt? He got a stiff shoulder ducking a throw? Try to have some idea of what you're talking about.

It would make sense to put Price in the bullpen for the playoff push if he can adapt to the role as quickly as Joba did.

Joba, Rivera and K-Rod all made the transition as rookies to dominant 7th or 8th inning guys and helped their teams charge into the playoffs

The bullpen is their most obvious need, so it makes plenty of sense to use Price there, while limiting his innings. Their rotation is already built well for the playoffs with three studs at the top of the rotation. The addition of Price as the late inning shut down option would be huge compliment to those guys.

Hi Bandit.

I asked, is there any evidence whatsoever for what you were claiming. And you replied, but you didn't give any evidence. Instead, you just said that I have no idea what I'm talking about.
So, I guess the answer is, no, there isn't any evidence whatsoever.

Keep it up, I enjoy your comments!

The evidence is his shoulder is probably wrecked - you take a guy who is overweight, overthrows every pitch, didn't condition himself in spring training to start and overextend him and now he can't pitch.
