Catch Him More
Chris Iannetta singled and homered for the Rockies tonight, driving in three runs in a 5-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates. He now owns a .380 OBA and a .544 slugging percentage. Is his defense so bad that the Rockies can't afford to have his bat in the lineup every day?

This entry was quoted by Art Martone in the Providence Journal today. I feel kind of proud of the ProJo for having a sports editor who reads blogs!
Iannetta's defense is fine, but Clint Hurdle just likes to employ a YMCA coaching philosophy ("Everybody plays")...how else can you explain using guys like Podsednik and Vizcaino and Fuentes?
In addition to what Aaron said, Hurdle really doesn't like to play youngsters very much when there's a veteran at the same position.
