Just Wondering
Do you think that Maddux and the Padres offense are ever going to be good on the same day again? The Marlins win 3-1 last night, with Maddux giving up two runs, one earned, in six innings of work. His record should be better than 3-7.

Hopefully he is willing to stick it out in San Diego for another year, but at this rate . . . I doubt it.

The Padres are toast this season, and Maddux obviously isn't part of their long-term plans even though he is pitching well overall. A thought that sends shivers down my spine as a Dodger fan is that of DePodesta picking up the phone and calling Arizona with the pitch: "Hey, the old guy has an ERA of 3.40 if you throw out that beatdown you guys laid on him--how about sending us a prospect or two for him?" It would be DePodesta's crowning revenge against the Dodgers.
