Just Wondering

The Royals are 1/2 game behind the Indians. If the Royals win tonight and the Indians lose, does falling into last place trigger the firing of Eric Wedge?

Have no clue about Wedge. But somehow Cleveland has contrived to go 4-9 against the mighty NL. That's downright embarrassing for an AL team this year.

I say yes. The Indians should be doing better than that.... especially if they lose to Zito tonight! Yikes!

Fire him.

I have never liked him ever since his first day as a major leaguer. He was playing for the Red Sox and fouled off an pitch in his first major league at bat. My buddy caught it. Wedge later got a hit in the same at bat. After the game we waited a top the fence of the players parking lot and asked him to sign it -- he refused. The guy is a bum.

Fire him.

remind me never to cross Drew. He knows how to hold a grudge.

But he was the best young manager in the game last Oct when they were up 3-1. If it took Willie Randolph from Oct '06 till June '08 to get the axe then Wedge should be all set for a while. He needs to explain the Indians don't like even numbered years.
