Pitching Returning?

A comment from my post after the Tigers swept the White Sox:

Here's the problem for the Tigres - who's going to give them the 3rd good start in a row?

Armando Galarraga stopped the Dodgers 5-0 with seven strong innings of work on Friday night, allowing just three hits and one walk over seven innings. He has a 2.87 ERA in June, despite one poor relief appearance.

If the Tigers can keep scoring about five runs a game, they can win with worse pitching than that.

They have dug too deep a hole for playoffs, but can shoot for ending .500. Big question now is whether they should try to unload some of their high priced talent. Ordonez is the only slugger they could get good talent for, but fans would miss him. I think it's time to trade some veterans for prospects, especially pitching prospects.

They have another SHO going today - Nate Robertson has pitched well the last 2 times out. Bonine got rocked yesterday but got a win. They're still 6 games under .500 - maybe they can pull it together with what they have -Verlander pitched well last time out and so did Rogers. I'm not sure you can get enough out of Robertson, Rogers and really Gallaraga from here on out. You can't convince me that you expect those guys to be much over .500 if that. I don't see them getting the kind of consistency they need but the rest of the division is also playing back to them. The fact the Dodgers can't hit helps.
