Another Step
The Tigers defeated the White Sox 5-1 tonight, cutting their games back to single digits. Most encouraging was the pitching of Justin Verlander, who went the distance, allowing just four hits. He's still not striking out as many batters as last seasons (just three tonight), but his walks and home runs are still good. He's given up extra base hits with men on base this year, and that's the biggest reason for the rise in his ERA.
